Jesuit Community at SXUK

Jesuits working at SXUK reside at Britto house within the campus which is the Jesuit residence, named after St. John de Britto (1647-1693), a Jesuit missionary from Italy who worked in Tamil Nadu from 1673 and was beheaded at Oriyur in 1693.

The Britto house was blessed and inaugurated on April 28, 2017 when the first meeting of the Governing Board of the University was held. The first community of Jesuits (2017-18) consisted of five members: Fr. Jeyakumar, Fr. Sebastian L. Raj, Fr. J. Felix Raj, Fr. Soosai Nayagam and Fr. Arulappan Royappan.
