Jericho Centre for the Blind and Handicapped

Rev. Fr. A. Anthony, a blind priest and maternal uncle of Fr. Felix Raj, started the Jericho Centre for the Blind and the handicapped in 1986 at Nagamangalam, 12 km from Trichy, Tamil Nadu. After Fr. Anthony’s demise, his brother, Fr. JesurajAnbarasan is administering it. The Centre runs the St. Joseph’s higher secondary school with 650 students.

The Jericho Training Centre for the Blind and the Handicapped was formed as a registered society on December 8, 1982 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India.

The Objective: To render service in any form, physical, intellectual, psychological, material or moral to the handicapped people irrespective of age, sex, caste, creed colour or economic status.

Dr. Raj is the president of the Centre since 2010. He is instrumental in establishing the three “Rev. Fr. Anthony Memorial Awards” in the School for academically outstanding students of Class XI and XII respectively.
